Rabbi Reuben Zellman

Rabbi Reuben Zellman has written extensively about gender identity, sexuality and Judaism, and has taught at congregations, conferences and universities around the U.S.  He serves on the advisory boards of Jewish Mosaic and the Transgender Economic Empowerment Initiative, among others.  As a singer and choral conductor, he is involved in early Western classical music as well as Jewish music.  In addition to music, Reuben finds joy and fulfillment in his multiple communities, in studying various languages, and in upending binaries of all kinds.  He is the Assistant Rabbi and Music Director at Congregation Beth El in Berkeley, California.
